PERFUME from Wiji Lacsamana's Radioactive Mushrooms In The Forest
PERFUME from Wiji Lacsamana’s Radioactive Mushrooms In The Forest

Wiji Lacsamana, illustrator, tattoo artist, designer and the brains behind Radioactive Mushrooms In The Forest, has brought together some of her favorite quaint brands for Metier, a pop-up in Suez & Zapote gallery on Feb. 27.

Wiji said, “These are some of the ladies/makers/thinkers/doers I am so inspired by. I also love that their brands attract people with the same energies.”

The pop-up includes Zee Zamora’s The Ephemera Coffee Trade (Wiji calls Zee “the most legit coffee connoisseur I know”), Mansy Abesamis’ jewelry line Dandy Ona, Chinggay Labrador’s selfpublished children’s book Zeke and the Pirates which Wiji illustrated, Pierra Labrador’s book of poetry “ The Heartbreak Diaries” which was illustrated by Celdee, Celdee & SweetLeaf Cookies, Feanne and Bodyfood All-Natural.

Drop by the pop-up, too, to check out Darling, the scent that is the result of a collaboration between Wiji and Pierra.

“I think the recurring theme here is authenticity, courage, and the drive for good quality,” said Wiji.

The products of Radioactive Mushrooms In The Forest, Wiji’s passion project, will be available at the pop-up, too, of course. “It takes up a lot of my time but I give it freely with reckless abandon. It started out with scarves featuring graphic designed photographs of my travels around the Philippines. Then from being a visual and tactile project, it extended to be an olfactory one. I make all of my perfumes candles and balms myself and I pick the best ingredients I can for these.”

Find Metier at Suez and Zapote (Suez corner Zapote Streets Makati near Metropolitan Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on February 27. Follow on Instagram: @curiouswiji and @radioactivemushroomsitf.
