LOOK Magazine, Inquirer Lifestyle, and the British Council start the search for the next talented young designer who will be sent to London on short fashion design grant.
The LOOK of Style Awards (LOSA) is the only local design fashion and accessories competition that sends its winners to London. In 2013, LOSA added an accessories competition and sent its winners to Sheffield Hallam University.
For fashion and accessory design, this year’s theme, “I am a Filipino designer” will challenge finalists to create wearable clothes or pieces featuring local materials and techniques, all reflecting what defines them as a Filipino designer.
Interested participants should have an established, primary design business in the Philippines, and a professional design experience of at least two consecutive year.
Applicants will be required to present actual samples of their clothes and a portfolio of their works to a screening committee consisting of LOOK and Lifestyle editors and fashion industry experts.
The panel of judges will pick ten finalists for fashion design and four finalists each for bags, shoes and accessories subcategories.
The 2016 winners (apparel and accessories) will be awarded an all-expense-paid trip to the UK to take up a full 3-week short course at Instituto Marangoni London.
