On March 11, 2011, tragedy struck Tohoku in Japan, engulfing the entire region in grief and gloom. In that time of great need, the Philippines came to Japan’s aid. Like Japan, the Philippines is prone to natural hazards and calamities. This shared struggle against disasters through the years has brought our two nations closer and helped further deepen Japan-Philippines diplomatic relationship, which marks its 60th anniversary this year. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the Filipino people, Tohoku is now well on its way to full recovery.
Today, 5 years after the 3/11 Great East Japan (Tohoku) Earthquake, Tohoku is back — once again in a warm and inviting haven where flowers bloom aplenty and local cultural tradition is thriving, beckoning to be explored, and ready to welcome you.
Come visit and experience Tohoku for yourself. Enjoy endless discovery in Japan. ADVT
