THE ANNUAL “Ablazablaze” exhibit is Jun Jun Ablaza’s way of celebrating his birthday, dahlings. This year he was assisted by close pals, fashion designer Michele Sison, publicist Tedrick Yau and production director Jett Carpio.
The fabulous images captured the essence of Ablaza’s majestic and extraordinary ideas using standout pieces from his creations.
International photographer Filbert Kung and celebrity stylist Roko Arceo, with shoot coordinator Trixie Orobia, were behind the black-and-white look.
To share his blessings, Ablaza, with Viking Range kitchen equipment, raised funds for an outreach activity to benefit children undergoing chemotherapy at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital Children’s Cancer Ward.
The evening gathered some of our town’s prominent figures in the lifestyle, diplomatic row and business circles, all enjoying the spectacular feast prepared by the Manila Polo Club with delicious cocktail concoctions of Belvedere Vodka.
The spotlight was also on the Moët & Chandon installation by Ablaza himself that used champagne bottles. Brilliant!
Living in the present gives tranquility. He continues to imagine a myriad of art wear and accessories, magnificent tablescapes and entertainment events to style and design.

Mojito party
Nothing spells a good chill out than enjoying a round of drinks paired with an awesome meal and a fun set of friends.
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Shakey’s, the Philippines’ all-time favorite casual dining restaurant, is bringing something new to the table.
It recently hosted, at its Bonifacio Global City Stopover branch in Taguig, a happy-hour cocktail party to celebrate the newly launched Shakey’s Mojito and Frozen Margarita.
Guests loved the new Shakey’s Mojito, a refreshing blend of soda and white rum with crushed mint leaves and cucumber. It was described by many as the best kind of cocktail after a tiring day of work and the perfect drink to end a long week.
Everyone was also all praises for the Frozen Margarita, Shakey’s interpretation of the world’s favorite tropical cocktail. It was a sweet and tangy blue lemonade crush, spiked with a dose of premium tequila, perfect for any celebration. Both drinks were paired with two Shakey’s classic fare, the Thin-Crust Pizza and Chicken ’N’ Mojos.
After enjoying the delicious drinks and tasty bites, guests joined the parlor games. They also took fun photos with comic-thought bubbles with the Shakey’s hashtags, creating good times and great memories to last a lifetime.

Local accessories brand
Joanique, a Philippine-based brand of fashion accessories, launched its Spring-Summer 2016 collection at the Kabila Filipino Bistro.
The woman behind this fascinating brand is Malou Araneta Romero, who believes “the indelible imprints in our hands have innumerable stories to tell.”
Founded in 2011, Joanique crafted authentic Filipino statements, built with an unaltered foundation of rich and interesting culture, fusing eye-catching color palettes and intricate details.
The inspiration of the latest collection is the colorful fiesta in my favorite City of Smiles, the Bacolod Maskara Festival, natch!
Romero described the new collection as “lively, fun, quirky and easygoing” like the typical Filipino. She said she would like to imbue her accessories with Filipino craftsmanship and global appeal.
