Fans of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza had been on their feet at the Trinoma activity center since the mall opened this morning.
Members of AlDub Nation (a portmanteau of the characters they play in noontime show “Eat Bulaga’s” Kalyeserye portion) from as far as Bacolod and Cebu had been waiting for the formal launch of their idols’ new product lines for Bench.
Richards is endorsing Clay Doh Lite, a hair product from Bench Fix Salon.
Mendoza is the latest pretty Filipino celebrity who has inspired a fragrance line from Bench.
There’s Dab For Love, an eau de toilette that is a play on the name of her Kalyeserye character.
Bench also offers an array of body sprays with names like Maine Girl, Maine Forever and Maine Love.
Bench honcho Ben Chan told Inquirer Lifestyle that the crowd that waited for the two celebrities is “impressive.”
Fans occupied all available space in the mall’s atrium as well as the balconies facing the activity area.
“I thought things have waned a bit but obviously it hasn’t,” Chan said about the tandem’s popularity.
The event was supposed to start at 5 p.m. The pair had still to appear onstage by early evening but the fans did not mind.
As expected, Richards and Mendoza’s much-awaited presence onstage elicited frenzied screaming from fans.
Mendoza said she still could not believe that she has her own fragrance line from Bench.
The love team also hinted at a surprise that fans would love in July.
