Top 3 makeup products to wear on the beach

I have to confess that even on the beach, I still can’t help but put on some makeup.

That’s because when I look at my bare face, there always seems to be a need to add a little something. Call it a fetish, but I’m happy with the results.

In fact, when my friends see me, they ask what product I use.

Here are three that come from one brand, Make Up For Ever. Its Aqua line is amazing and can withstand soaking in water for hours.

Full brows, lined eyes

I like my brows full. I used to spend so much on eyebrow pencils until I tried Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow. I have had the same tube for almost six months. When I use it, it never smudges or disappears—no need to reapply.

It’s very easy to put on. It comes with a little brush and all you have to do is apply just a little on the brush and draw the shape you want.

I’ve had the Aqua Liner since December last year and just used it during a beach trip last weekend. I swam both in the ocean and the pool the whole day and, at dinner time, the line was still there. This product is so good, I think I would use it even when I work out!

To remove it, I use Lancôme Bifacil.

I’ve also been a long-time fan of Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Lip liner. It stays on even when you’re sunbathing. If you have a fave shade, it would be good to line and fill your lips first with this product so your lippie’s color will last longer.

All in all, Make Up Forever’s Aqua line is something you must try. It is so easy to recommend because it delivers.

Split-ends

A few weeks ago, the good folks at Unilever sent me the Dove Split End Test kit. I think it’s a great idea. At least somebody finally knew how bad hair could get at this time of the year.

Summer in the Philippines is a merciless season. And with all the styling my hair goes through, I can already see frizz in my future.

Now Dove has come up with a solution for damaged hair. Let’s see if it works.

The kit comes with three products: the Intense Repair shampoo; the Intense Repair conditioner; and the Intense Repair Daily Treatment Conditioner.

There are two bonus brushes —one roughed up, and another a smooth e.l.f. brand complexion brush. It’s a cool, visual way to convince (or scare) you to start treating your hair right.

Others suggest rubbing hair on the cheek to see which of these brushes resemble our hair’s texture the most.

To be honest, I don’t think hair can ever get that bad but thanks to Dove, you’ve just terrified

us with the worst possible scenarios.

On to the shampoo: It’s packed with micromoisture serum and fiber actives that aim to help repair damaged hair.

It’s safe to trust that Dove packs in the formula to guarantee you smooth, silky hair. Then again, it might work only for those with naturally straight hair that dries out on certain days.

Packed with a delicate, sweet fragrance, this creamy shampoo flattened my hair, at least taming it more than before.

But the conditioner, which should be used after the shampoo, smoothens out the hair better. It adds sheen; when my hair dries out, I can see a subtle change in volume.

Just a warning, though, because it packs on many smoothing ingredients: Hair that’s prone to grease might get too oily later in the day.

The Daily Treatment conditioner has a thicker, dual-colored cream.

Using it alternately with the other conditioner, I was disappointed to see a difference in the results.

However, it all does what it needs to do: make my hair soft and lessen hair fall within three weeks.

While my hair needs more than just a kit to keep its sheen, the Dove trio delivers its promise but doesn’t exactly go beyond it.
