Students and teachers of UP Diliman got the shock of their lives this morning upon seeing the Bulwagang Rizal, also known as the UP Faculty Center, in flames. This is the third time a fire has happened at UP in two years.
The academic community tried to comprehend the tragedy that one’s life’s work has been reduced to ashes. Most of the faculty of the university stored their personal belongings, academic papers, research in those offices. And most of all it is the repository of so many memories. Many professors cancelled their scheduled classes in the aftermath of the fire.
