Every child has innate curiosity and creativity. They have the ability to explore, discover, and figure things out on their own. This natural gift can only reach its full potential when nurtured. And with a powerful motivation from parents and teachers and easier access to technology, this talent can easily develop into a passion for innovation.
This inspired Wyeth Nutrition, an advocate in sparking the spirit of innovation among kids, to search for kid innovators to recognize and celebrate their exciting journey to innovation. The Search is open for students aged 9 to 14, in grades 4 to 8, individual or part of a 2 to 5-member team. They must have developed an innovative science-related project within three years preceding the submission of entry. Top three winning entries shall each receive a cash prize of P100,000 and a trophy, along with a science-and-technology showcase worth P100,000 for their school!
To join, participating students must introduce and demonstrate the project with a 1 to 3-minute video presentation. They must also prepare a written brief detailing responses to the following questions: (1) who are the participants and the adviser?; (2) what is the innovation called?; (3) what is its purpose?; (4) who can benefit from the innovation and how?; (4) what inspired you to create the innovation?; (5) how was it developed?
They should also secure an endorsement letter from their school’s Science Department Head and email the written brief, video and endorsement letter to wyethnutritionkidinnovators@gmail.com with subject title: “Search for the Wyeth Nutrition Kid Innovators.” Deadline of entries is on May 30, 2016.
