The recently held cocktail party and charity auction for Child Protection Network (CPN) was a rousing success, raising P6.5 million through the efforts of partner organizations including personal donations.

CPN is in the forefront of the battle against the many faces of child abuse, providing vital medical and psychosocial care for the victims. It currently has 78 child-protection units in 42 provinces.

Guests enjoyed the change of format this year of the annual fundraiser, from formal sit-down dinner to cocktails, held at the ballroom of Raffles and Fairmont Makati. The gourmet spread was nonetheless filling.

CPN founder David Bradley and wife Katherine were delighted to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.

Meanwhile, CPN board president Irene Martel Francisco and trustees Renna Angeles, Jun Sy, Johnny Velasquez, Mia Borromeo and Mons Romulo were ecstatic at how the event turned out.

The auction lots were varied and covetable, all of which were sold out as the night wore on. Andrew Thomas presided over, making sure the lots got the best possible

offer.

More good news

Here’s more good news, palangga. Fashion retail brand Cinderella has partnered with TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation (Akfi)—whose executive director Menchie Silvestre said that the broadcast network is committed “to fulfill its social responsibility of helping vulnerable members of society.”

Exclusive participating brands like Cinderella Teens, Seventeen, C Women, Pierre Cardin and OshKosh B’Gosh held a special sale. Proceeds will be donated to Akfi, which initiates relief operations and livelihood programs to impoverished towns around the country.

Cinderella marketing director Malou Coronel-de Venecia, brand manager Jica Coronel, and buyer Christina Coronel-de Venecia were featured in a segment of the TV5 program “Care to Share” hosted by Cheryl Cosim and Akfi communications and resource mobilization manager Nancy Concepcion.

Cheers to Cinderella for sharing its blessings!
