Luxury and delight from refreshments to lights

HAPPINESS!
HAPPINESS!

An old adage says happiness is a state of mind or a journey. Now, happiness can also be tasted, thanks to Coca-Cola!

Coke has long been sharing happiness, and in the Philippines, Femsa (Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V.) is the guiding company for happiness—delivering smiles, refreshment and inspiration to  clients, customers and employees. Case in point is its Sun Awards that I was so lucky and grateful to have hosted.

The Coca-Cola Femsa Philippines Sun Awards recognizes the different departments and employees and their exemplary work and contribution to the company.

The show was fun-filled and high-energy, which is a reflection of the working environment in the company.

The program started with the Ryan Cayabyab Singers performing a stunning rendition of the Coke theme song, “Taste the Feeling,” giving the audience an idea of how the night would turn out.

Award winners were given sizeable prizes which they can use for social development programs, and were recognized for the hard work they have been doing to reach the collective goal of being the best beverage company in the country.

Femsa has been very active in its external and internal socio-civic responsibility programs. Teaming up with nonprofit groups, it aims to support projects that involve the youth, environment, active lifestyles, family and community.

The company has been very supportive of my projects—the Assumption ’81 and Red Charity Gala projects, to name a few.

Treasured partner

Speaking of loyal and avid supporters, Rémy Martin is also a treasured partner in my events—providing opulent spirits and cocktails to guests, be it at the Red Charity Gala or in other occasions.

Rémy Martin recently supported Metro Society’s launch of its latest issue and an exhibit of luxury and bespoke items at 8 Rockwell.

Metro Society’s editor in chief, the always fab and exuberant Raul Manzano, treated guests to a wonderful sensory experience of luxe delight.

There were bespoke suits and shoes from Signet featuring Orazio Luciano’s suits and jackets. Also part of the exhibit were Carmina Shoemaker’s shoes, elegant timepieces featuring the creations of Jaeger-LeCoultre, the finest luxury and fun cameras by Leica, a Rolls-Royce Wraith (the only way to ride, I tell you),  A2A Journeys, and cocktails by Rémy Martin.

As if all these were not enough, the guests were also treated to a custom menu by chef Luciano Paolo Nesi of Prego Ristorante.

The latest issue of Metro Society features the best-dressed men of Manila, which includes Anton Lagdameo, Jack de Mesa, Carlo Umali, Chucho Martinez, Joey Samson, Jun Jun Ablaza, Edie Lim, Jason Qua, Kelly See, Tom Sing, Tim Yap, Robby Carmona, Jose Mari Victor Silayan, Rocky David, Arnold Austria, Sonny Sunga, Robbie Becroft, Christian Valdes, LA Aguinaldo, Paolo Pineda, Ferdi Salvador and Edu Manzano.

Also featured in the issue are the men in suits with a wonderful surprise—Tessa Alindogan as the only woman on the list. I super love her socks and wonderful Joey Samson suit!

In the same issue is a feature on my husband Dennis, and 10 things you didn’t know about him.

Underwater hockey

It’s not a secret that Dennis is into underwater hockey and is part of the Philippine Underwater Hockey Federation. He and his team were recently in South Africa for the World Cup, so I went there to support him.

Being in another country poses a problem when it comes to certain vanities like nail care and nail polish preservation. Most of the time, we sacrifice such luxuries and go all-natural, but it just doesn’t feel the same.

I found a great solution to this little dilemma with Kiyosa Total Japanese Beauty. Using the latest Japanese technology and discipline while incorporating Filipino hospitality in its services, Kiyosa offers not just nail art, lash extension and hair care—but an exceptional and complete beauty experience.

Kiyosa Total Japanese Beauty is at G/F, F1 Hotel, Lane A, Bonifacio Global City. For reservations, call 8058888.

Go green with light

Another piece of news I am so happy to share is that I am now part of the Nxled family.

As an interior designer, I am particular with lighting, as it greatly contributes to the overall design and ambience of a room. Its color and intensity can either make the room warm and cozy, or strong and vivid.

The challenge with lighting, however, is that once installed, it is most likely there to stay; when you want to alter the ambience or lighting effect, you have to change the lights altogether.

Launched recently during Worldbex 2016 is the new line of LED lighting from Nxled, the next generation in lighting. Committed to innovation, Nxled introduces the Chameleon series, an adaptive LED line designed to suit the different lighting needs of today’s consumers.

Be it for the quintessential condo dweller maximizing a specific area, or an entrepreneur renovating the office space to increase functionality and productivity, the Nxled Chameleon series offers innovative technologies that will revolutionize the concept of lighting with its “dimmable without dimmer” and color-changing technologies.

Nxled’s Dimmable Without Dimmer Series features an adaptive technology that allows lighting products to dim without the need for a dimmer switch.

This feature, the first in the Philippines, is suitable for energy- and environment-conscious consumers, who can choose the brightness of the LED light sans any special equipment, starting with full brightness (100 percent) that can be gradually dimmed to 50, to 25, to 12.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the color-changing series has three color temperatures that can adapt to the user’s need, preference or mood: daylight, warm white or cool white, according to the time of day or the activity at hand.

Want to sit back and read a book? Then switch to daylight. Want a cozier atmosphere? Warm white is perfect.

Making it more special is that the Nxled Chameleon Series is controllable with a flick of an existing switch, allowing for user convenience and ease without complicated rewiring or electrical changes.

The Nxled Chameleon series is available in a wide range of high-quality LED products, from bulbs and down lights to ceiling lamps and tubes, all perfect replacements to existing lighting fixtures. Beauty, high technology, efficiency and cost effectiveness can thus come together seamlessly.
