THE NATIONAL Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), with the Municipal Government of Pulilan, Bulacan, and Museo de Pulilan, is holding the 5th Mandalá Art Festival on May 12.
Mandalá is a celebration of the best artistic skills and traditions of Central Luzon.
Based on a local term meaning “the best of the harvest,” the previous Mandalá Art Festivals featured papier-mâchés of kneeling carabao and carabao heads; carabao sculpture-making; and a national photography contest focusing on Quingua River.
This year, the 5th Mandalá Art Festival features a regional art competition open to any visual artist based in Region III (Central Luzon), with the theme “Kabukiran, Kayamanan ng Bayan.” Winning entries will be announced during the exhibition-opening on May 12 at Robinsons Townville Pulilan.
The festival also features the first exhibition of works by the Diego family of Pulilan.
The exhibit “5 Diego: Grupong Eksibisyon ng Angkang Diego” will be held at the newly opened Casa San Francisco, Poblacion, Pulilan (behind San Isidro Labrador Church).
