If you need further proof, dahlings, that the Filipino art scene is indeed bustling, take a look at the recent opening of Provenance Art Gallery in Shangri-La at the Fort.

Top-of-the-line retailers and good-looking couple Raul Francisco and wife Joanna Preysler partnered with art consultant Derek Flores to put up Provenance.

The opening featured Andres Barrioquinto’s one-man show, “Nocturne.” In attendance were over 300 collectors representing a cross-section of Manille’s art and business communities including, of course, its prominent celebrities.

Cocoy Puyat was the hot DJ of the night, playing music with an energetic vibe.

Alex Lichaytoo of Bacchus Wines ensured that the guests never ran out of spirits to imbibe.

Media partner Philippine Tatler came in full force, led by publisher Irene Martel Francisco, who brought along Edipresse International chair and CEO Pierre Lamuniére and Asia Tatler Group executive chair Michel Lamuniére.

By the time I got there almost all the artworks were sold out and new orders kept pouring in.

It was an auspicious opening. Joanna Preysler Francisco said, “This is just the beginning, with more exciting shows to come!”

Cristalle Belo-Henares, Dr. Vicki Belo

‘Sleep easy’

“Sleep Easy, Speakeasy” was the party name that launched The Belo Medical Group’s latest product, Nightlase, a laser that treats the cause of snoring.

The event, which adopted a roaring ’20s theme, was recently held at Prohibition, a thematic hidden bar in Greenbelt Makati. It was a different scene from what we have been accustomed to previous Belo launches.

Dr. Vicki Belo and daughter Cristalle came in their Gatsby-inspired outfits, palangga.

Nightlase, Vicki said, is a quick, noninvasive method to address the causes of snoring. Significant results can be observed after at least three sessions. Each session lasts 20-30 minutes.

Spotted at the party were gorgeous Belo endorsers Donita Rose, Aubrey Miles, Derrick Monasterio, Edgar Allan Guzman and Phoemela Barranda—who confessed to snoring and signed herself up for the treatment right away.

Vicki, aka the Beauty Doctor, gave away special tokens to guests who came in their best ’20s attire.

The program included fun games prepared by the team of Belo marketing manager Jennie Julaton with support from assistant PR manager Eric Ho.

The party lasted till late in the evening.

Here’s a toast to a good soundless sleep, palangga!
