Zark’s Burgers marks its 7th year on May 29 with  “Jawbreaker Day,” a one-day promo where in the best-selling Jawbreaker burger will be sold at P150 instead of P290, at SM City Fairview, SM Southmall and the flagship branch at Burgundy Transpacific Building on Taft Avenue.

 

The Jawbreaker is a mammoth-size burger with three quarter-pound patties, two slices of Spam, bacon strips and veggies, generously covered with melted cheese, with hot fries on the side.

 

Zark’s is also popular for its Bacon-Wrapped Burger, The Luther Burger and Tombstone challenges.

 

Zark’s Burgers is a passion project of founder, Viktor “Zark” Varona, a former cruise ship kitchen staff.

 

From a 20-seat hole-in-the-wall and a three-man crew in May 2009, Zark’s now has 18 mainstream branches.

 

Dragon Boat Festival

 

Xin Tian Di celebrates Dragon Boat Festival to commemorate the life and death of the renowned scholar Qu Yuan. People race on dragon boats and share rice and meat dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves called zongzi or machang.

 

Xin Tian Di has variations of machang in traditional, organic and glutinous rice with lotus cream, available  from May 29-June 10.
