ONE AFTERNOON in Taft Avenue, I got a phone call from my sister who asked me to meet her for late lunch. When I arrived, I noticed that my sister had some friends with her. I formally introduced myself to her group of friends, and it so happened that

Bianca Fontejon was one of them. Bianca reached out her hand as she introduced herself with a big smile. We were able to chat a little, but unfortunately, I had to leave.

A few days later, I was hanging out at McDonald’s with my own set of friends—McFam. As it turned out, Bianca and I had the same group of friends. From that day on, we saw each other every day.

As each day passed, we got to know each other better. Bianca was a very joyful person; I have never seen her sad. And she always had a big smile on her face. I don’t think I ever saw her frown.
One thing people don’t know about her is that she had a crazy, funny laugh. I remember the way we used to tease her. “Hoy! ‘Wag ka matulog!” we exclaimed, whenever her eyes would “disappear” when she let out a big laugh.

Bianca was always a caring person. She loved listening to our stories and plans. She liked to give me tips and pieces of advice whenever I needed help or had a problem.

Bianca was also a very positive person. No matter how sad or depressed you were, she always had something to say that would bring you out of your dark mood and make you feel better.

Bianca was a loving daughter, a devoted student and a great friend. Anyone who knew her was lucky, but those whom she called her friends were blessed.
Each day without her will never be the same again. There will always be a part of Bianca that we will carry in our hearts forever.

Once known as McFam, we are now B’s Family.
