Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach lives up to being confidently beautiful with a heart as she attends a meeting aimed at ending acquired immune deficiency syndrome or AIDS at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
Wurtzbach attended the United Nations high-level meeting on ending AIDS on June 8.
“Spent the day at the #UnitedNations High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS. It was an afternoon of panels and conversations on the importance of a Fast-Track approach,” Wurtzbach said.
Describing her experience, the Filipina beauty queen said she was proud to have represented Filipinos, most especially the members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.
“Proud to represent my fellow countrymen but most especially the LGBT community from all over the world. I have all of you in my mind as I attend today’s meetings for HIV/AIDS. I represent the Philippines and the rest of the Universe. I’m so humbled to be congratulated and thanked by highly respected ministers and directors from all over the world. There’s still much to learn but words and promise are just words without actions, right? I am your student #UnitedNations,” she said in another Instagram post.
Wurtzbach cited human immunodeficiency virus infection and AIDS (HIV/AIDS) awareness as one of her advocacies during her reign as Miss Universe. She was named an official HIV Prevention Ambassador for Aid for AIDS. AJH
