BB Cream devotees swear by the stuff: its combination of cosmetic and skin-care benefits, and ease of use. Now beauty brands have innovated the formula with the cushion compact: essentially a lightweight BB formula poured into a compact.
The innovation isn’t just in the transition of liquid to solid (essentially making the formula easier to transport), but in the cushion itself. It is designed to deliver less of the formula to your face for a cake-free finish.
Maybelline New York’s Super BB Cushion, for example, delivers a poreless finish. The cushion minimizes the amount you can apply, providing a sheer, “natural-looking” texture.
Depending on your needs, you can build if you want more coverage, or keep it light if you want your skin to show through.
The color-correcting mineral pigments in Maybelline’s version of the cushion offer more than the usual coverage, while a moisturizing essence keeps skin hydrated.
Instead of lugging a bottle of BB cream, these travel-friendly compacts make touch-ups easier and, since it contains SPF 29, offers protection the entire day.

Beauty addict Rhoda Campos lauded Helix-D, an anti-aging label that recently joined the newly refurbished beauty section of SM.
At SM Makati, for example, Helix-D now shares floor space with premium labels like Dior, Shu Uemura and MAC. The glossy floors, nicely lit space and counters of products ranging from affordable to luxe make for a compelling reason to shop the new beauty section.

Utilizing “power peptides, matrikines, antioxidants, water-magnet skin hydrators, skin soothers, and skin smoothers,” the serum and its accompanying eye serum, which hastens collagen renewal for better skin texture and firmness, contains dual liposome technology.
Simply put, the Double Helix-D Delivery System allows the formula to work on skin by protecting active ingredients to avoid “neutralization by skin’s natural defense mechanisms.”
Brand experts recommended combining both serums with an application of two to three times daily in order to see results.

Svenson recently marked its 35th anniversary with a dinner at Sofitel to honor its endorsers.
