Paper lily as table décor

LILIES have long been a symbol of peace and serenity, and paper craft evokes these qualities with very little cost. Requiring dexterity to make, this paper lily will not only enhance your table; it will liven up your dinner conversation as well.

WHAT you will need:

Scissors, round cork coaster (from Crate & Barrel), double-sided tape and white “cartolina”
CUT SQUARES of paper and roll up like an ice cream cone. You must base the size of your paper cones to the diameter of your base. Our coaster has a diameter of 3.75 inches so our paper squares are 3×3 inches.
COVER the entire surface of the cork with double-sided tape so you can stick the paper cones easily. Continue to layer the cones, alternately per row, until you complete the shape of the lily.
FINISHED product. Paper lily can be used singly or grouped together as a centerpiece for a table setting. You can also stick them on the wall as floral wall accents.

Tip: For more pizzazz, use colored cartolina or foil for a gilded look

For added fun, type or write meaningful phrases or jokes on the paper before rolling them up and ask everyone to pick one at the end of the meal.
