‘Risk is not knowing’: Pia Wurtzbach reminds public to get tested for HIV

Reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has reminded the public anew to get tested for human immunodeficiency virus or HIV, as part of the observation of National HIV Testing Day in the United States.

In a video posted on her Instagram account, Wurtzbach said one in eight people with HIV do not know that they are infected with the virus, “which means some individuals are not receiving the attention and care that they need and deserve to stay healthy and avoid risking others.”

“National HIV Testing Day is a reminder to get tested and take care of not only yourself but also the people you love,” Wurtzbach said.

“Start talking and stop the spread of HIV. Take that first step, take control, get tested. Know your status.; The risk is not knowing,” she added.
