Philippine Tatler Traveller celebrated its ninth volume through a vibrant and exquisite affair that highlighted the luxury of travel.
Irene Martel Francisco, Philippine Tatler managing director, and Mia Borromeo, Traveller editor, said they were pleased to have more than 300 globe-trotting sophisticates that evening partaking of every lavish aspect that “The Art of Luxury Travel” had in store.
“You will find that [the magazine edition] celebrates everything that is luxe and travel-related in a gorgeously produced volume,” said Martel.
The latest issue features world traveler Monica Urquijo on the cover, on location in colorful Cartagena, Colombia; an exploration of the Holy Land Petra, Israel; a handful of delightful adventures as told by global explorers Bobbi Brown, Ana Delgado, Curtis Chin and Bak Licauco; and a collection of creature comforts for the posh traveler.
Raffles and Fairmont Makati cohosted the event in partnership with Citibank. Joining Francisco and Borromeo in the warm welcome were the five-star hotel’s managing director David Batchelor and director of communications Monique Toda, as well as Citibank’s country manager, the charming Aftab Ahmed.
In line with the magazine’s theme, Raffles and Fairmont Makati executive chef Wade James put out a flawless spread that deliciously showcased South American cuisine with Middle Eastern influences.
Likewise, DJ Cocoy Puyat fell in step with the Traveller cues and played groovy Latino beats and pop that got our town’s who’s who on the dance floor, dahlings.
Tatler Traveller also collaborated with respected global brands whose DNA reflect life’s pleasures and encourage one to explore and to be constantly curious, Borromeo said.
“Not only were these celebrated brands featured in the magazine, but they showcased their products and services through stylishly curated vignettes during the event and generously bestowed wonderful prizes for the raffle,” she noted.
One such amazing raffle prize was a round-trip ticket on business class to any European destination of choice on Turkish Airlines (it flies to more than 108 cities in Europe alone).
Naturellement, Turkish Airlines general manager Ehran Balaban was on hand to draw the raffle and congratulate the very lucky winner.
While enjoying the sounds and food, guests meandered through the ballroom to explore the fantastic vignettes and uncover more about the Bellevue Resort in Bohol, Eye Society, Citibank, Areum, Ipanema, It’s ’Bout Time Inc., Mövenpick, Lexus, Willow Stream Spa, Regent Seven Seas and Oceania Cruises, Samsonite, SkyJet Airlines, Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, Turkish Airlines, Globe Telecom and Jewelmer Joaillerie.
As promised, everyone experienced the art of luxury travel: to discover what these top global brands have to offer, to indulge in delectable cuisine and to win amazing fabulous prizes.
