ENVIRONMENTALIST and photographer Bengy Toda has traveled the world with his camera, but for his latest show, “Building Bridges,” he presents what he does best: capturing the soul of his beloved homeland’s heritage.

Following the success of his previous exhibits at the National Museum, Toda decided to work with Provenance Gallery owners Raul Francisco, Joanna Preysler and Derek Flores to showcase rare and coveted photographs.

If each photograph must paint a thousand words, Toda’s work is brimming with chapters.

Some of Manille’s prominent personalities who attended the show included Jaime and Lizzie Zobel, Pedro Roxas, Evelyn Forbes, Irene Martel Francisco with husband Dr. Randy Francisco, Linggoy and Connie Araneta, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Anton Huang, Raul Manzano, Ambassador Isabel Wilson and her whole famille of achievers, and the Toda clan.

Also in attendance were art aficionados like Jaime Ponce de Leon of Leon Gallery, Robbie Santos, Mike and Michelle Tomacruz, Tonico Manahan, Tina Fernandez, Jay Campos Yao, Gabby and Jia Estrella, and Mark Wilson.

I enjoyed the company of pals from way back plus new friends, natch!

Creamy blended drinks

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf recently launched its new ice cream-inspired Ice Blended Drinks at its 26th Street Bistro in Bonifacio Global City.

Dotted with flower-filled cones as table centerpieces, the bistro turned into a picturesque space that was happily photographed by ice cream lovers and even dieting invitees. Delicately placed pistachios, cookie pieces and mint leaves served as clues to the mystery of the new flavors.

Marketing manager Nina Gregorius gave a short introduction to the brand and its new products, describing each of the flavors as guests sampled them: Cookies and Cream Ice Blended, Mint Chip Ice Blended and Pure Salted Pistachio Ice Blended.

Guests joined the Instagram contest, in which they recorded looping video clips of themselves enjoying their drinks to win Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf gift certificates.

Seen sipping their drinks with pleasure were model and actress Say Alonzo, TV and events host Rodel Flordeliz, Yoga+ instructor Missy Castro, beauty expert and businesswoman Mitch Carlos, food blogger Peachy Adarne and fashion and lifestyle bloggers Maxine Marcelino, Charlene Ajose, Vina Guerrero and Chin Chin Obcena.

My favorite is the Pure Salted Pistachio Ice Blended. It’s time for you to discover happiness and the good things in life.

All these new Ice Blended Drinks are available at all Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stores.

The ‘Urban Man’

Rustan’s, in partnership with RCBC, dedicates an entire month to the “Urban Man” with special promos and exclusive collections.

At its formal launch, Rustan’s Makati was filled with dashing, debonair men. DJ Kristian Hernandez played soulful music, accompanied by a percussionist, while guests, including attractive women, enjoyed an evening of cocktails.

Offering customized experience for the ultimate sartorial man, the innovative, fully-customizable watch brand Undone is now available at Rustan’s Makati.

Undone’s CEO Michael Young, vice president for marketing Barry Cheung and Paolo Puyat Martel encouraged guests to see the selections of designs and details of the one-of-a-kind timepiece.

Dalmore spokesperson Adam Knox gave a talk on Premium Whisky Appreciation.

Finding the perfect gift for the man who means the most is not going to be that hard, after all. Whether it is for a father, a boyfriend, a husband, a son, a partner, or a friend, show appreciation and love with pieces that truly reflect every individual’s style.

A variety of thoughtful tokens await, only at Rustan’s, especially with the eye-catching Undone watch, dahlings.
