LIVING in a tropical country feels like having an endless summer.

Our generally warm weather, even in the wet season, induces a bright atmosphere.

The challenge in having a tropical look is keeping makeup light, fresh and photo-worthy. Nobody wants her makeup melting in the heat.

It’s best to keep your base light, but don’t be afraid to go heavy on the shimmer. And, of course, never skip the sunblock.

For instance, the Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil (P995) can be your best friend. Not only will applying generous amounts of it on your body leave you with an attractive, sun-kissed look, but this oil, enriched with Fair Trade honey, also keeps your skin soft and smooth.

We used it all over the model’s face and décolletage for a fresh-out-of-the-sun tan sans harmful UV rays.

This luxurious oil will make you look like you just came from a monthlong beach holiday.

If bold colors are not your thing, The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation (P1,295) and Shimmer Waves (P1,295) blusher should be mainstays in your makeup bag. Pat the Fresh Nude Foundation all over for flawless skin before dusting Shimmer Waves over the apples of your cheeks using a fluffy kabuki brush.

This handy compact has five earthy shades you can use together or individually. Not only is the Shimmer Waves compact a blusher, it does triple duty as a highlighter and eyeshadow, too. Now that’s value for your money! The delicate sheen gives your skin a natural color boost and healthy glow, and works for both fair or tanned skin.
