Coping up with the ever-evolving landscape of modern times, Philippine real estate titan Megaword Corporation unveiled its 28th residential masterpiece in the heart of Makati Central Business District, “The Ellis” on Tuesday.

The 30-storey building, located along L.P. Leviste St., Salcedo Village, Makati, boasts of unique and modern amenities which would cater to the lifestyle of the new breed of creative, business-minded and up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

Megaworld Makati CBD’s vice president for sales and marketing Eugene Em Lozano, during an exclusive press launch at A Space in Makati City, emphasized that passionate and talented achievers are now looking for a new home in the city, that embodies their ascent in attaining all of their ambitions.

Oftentimes, these driven achievers tend to get out of the four walls of their office, to test the waters on what more they can gain out of their skills.

“The Ellis is for talented, creative individuals,” Lozano said. “It is what’s next for society’s ‘who’s next’.

Furthermore, Lozano explained that the building’s name was derived from the famed landmark in New York City, “Ellis Island,” where the iconic Statue of Liberty is erected. This comes with the visionary goal of one day making Makati “The Big Apple” of the Philippines.

“With this project, I believe we have provided a place where everything is an amenity for the creative mind. It’s as if the place speaks to you and says, ‘Go and make something. Create. Make a difference,” he said.

As the number of fresh ideas from innovative dreamers arise, Lozano believes that the need for a state-of-the-art incubator is at an all time high.

“Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come,” he quoted famed French novelist, Victor Hugo. “The Ellis is not just a residential condo. It’s an outlook in a life, a mindset, and a lifestyle.”

First of its kind

“The Ellis” is best described as a facility for individuals fed up with the typical run-of-the-mill workspaces, and are looking for a place that will fulfil their distinctive professional needs.

The building features an in-house design in a 1,091 squared-meter lot—giving its future residents plenty of room to operate.

One of the eminent facilities at the property is the CoLAB shared spaces, which is a creative, non-conventional working space where residents can simply walk in, grab a cup of coffee, plug in their laptops and start working.

The Town Hall, on the other hand, is the perfect space for casual socials, intimate galas, movie showing, acoustic sessions or even for hosting art exhibits. Lozano claims that its slick design can host the typical “binyagan” or any other Filipino gatherings, while also being appealing to corporate meetings. With its cozy feel and contemporary design, every event, whether big or small, will surely be one for the books.

One of The Ellis’ biggest draws, meanwhile, is the Pause and Play Room where residents can take a breather from the daily grind by hanging out with friends while playing board or computer games, and therefore proving that no one is really too old for such small pleasures.

This facility offers its occupants the option to have a break from their respective workloads, and have them coming out feeling refreshed and ready to go.

The Ellis is also designed with the overall wellness of its residents in mind. It has a fitness center that will let residents lift, push, flex, run, train and tone all they want with its expansive facilities and equipment to help them stay in shape while they achieve their dreams one by one.

And for some more down time, residents will also have an al fresco poolside experience with an amazing view of the Makati CBD skyline.

The Ellis’ modern, unconventional building shape embodies the character of its residents–the young and creative who continuously break borders to get what they want.  It will have Megaworld’s very first Link units, which are small spaces linked to a main unit, then converted into a workspace, like a resident’s very own small firm, studio workshop area, gallery or home office.

“The Ellis” is expected to be in full completion come 2021.

Blazing their own trail

To further exemplify what “The Ellis” is all about, Megaword enlisted the aid from people who have been through the same standstill when it comes to branding, entrepreneurship and personal investments.

During the media launch on Tuesday,  Shaira Luna, Jed Root Manila-represented photographer, spilled what she knows about overcoming one-path labels and becoming your own brand.

She shared her adventures from being heralded as a ‘kid genius’ and starring in the famed 90’s milk-commercial about gifted children, to eventually transitioning to being one of the most celebrated photographers of this generation.

Her struggles dealing with public backlash and eventually embracing her new career path left quite an impression to those in attendance.

Meanwhile, Vince Golangco, owner of multiple successful food establishments and founder and President of WheninManila.com, shared how he turned his passion into growing opportunities and how he plans to expand his current businesses.  He also shared his amusing take on how entrepreneurs can survive in today’s digital age.

Lastly, Jackie Van de Ende, founder and managing director of the largest online real estate marketplace in the country, Lamudi Philippines, also talked about how young entrepreneurs can build and buy their own properties.
