That was a grand bash to open the Hyundai South Cebu site, described as the first green automotive dealership in the Visayas. It has a 6,500-square meter showroom, the largest of any Hyundai dealer in the country.

“Welcome,” said Hyundai Cebu president and CEO Edward Onglatco with his wife Danessa, and his mother, company treasurer Margarita Onglatco, whose birthday it was on that day.

VIPs present were led by Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña and his wife Councilor Margot Vargas-Osmeña; Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, president and CEO of Hyundai Asia Resources, exclusive distributor of Hyundai in the Philippines, and senior vice president Jun Cortez.

Here for the occasion were Hyundai Motor Company Asia and Pacific team general manager Je Pog Ryu and assistant manager Claire Chae. Joining them for the ribbon cutting were Hyundai Cebu board chair Edward Go and chief finance officer Ladis Avila Jr.

There were drum beaters to set the festive mood, and Cebuano culture was showcased by a Sinulog dance performance to honor the Santo Niño. Brazilian model and film star Daiana Menezes entertained the crowd with her repertory of songs.

Why is the Hyundai South Cebu building described as green? Jaja Chiongbian Rama of BigSeed PR & Events has the answer:

“Hyundai South Cebu is the first in the Visayas to implement green building standards and technologies that are functional, customer- and environment-friendly, while retaining its elegance.

“It is a recipient of the Yakal certificate from the Philippine Green Building Initiative. It is constructed in accordance with the criteria of ‘Green,’ which stands for ‘Geared for Resiliency and Energy Efficient for the Environment.’

Tracy Reena Johns Yap was Summer Eve’s maid of honor while Paul Matthew Beaton stood as best man. Bridesmaids Mary Grace Isnani, Chyrbell Pagaduan, Maya Franco and Kyra Cabaero were complimented by ushers Greg Jacobs, Giovanni de Guia, Karl John Noel and Frederick Yao.

Little attendants were ring bearer Harvey Kekert and flower girls Alenna de Guia Agir, Sofia Isnani and Alexandra Jane Isnani.

Attending the bridal couple as secondary sponsors were Alexis and Nenette Isnani for the candle; Wesley and Laurice Chiongbian, the veil; Wolf and Krikri Kekert, the cord.

An elegant evening reception to celebrate the happy occasion was held at the Horizons of the Oakridge Business Park in Banilad. There was wedding planner Snoogie Reynes looking into every detail, and Jude Bacalso to host the lively program.
