For the ribbon-cutting ceremonies tomorrow, July 28, of the corporate office of 8 Rockwell—the new towering landmark along Rockwell Drive—guests will see a modern, elegant, minimalist yet cozy and intimate workplace.
Most of all, it addresses the practical needs of today’s corporate executives.
An example of practical needs are urgent phone calls. During meetings and an important call comes in, one can step out of the meeting room and walk into a glass-enclosed room for a more private space. These glass cubicles were set up precisely for that—privacy during calls.
The Rockwell corporate headquarters at 8 Rockwell must be the only office in the city with such a design feature.
The offices blend well the use of light wood, glass, concrete and steel—the aesthetics of modernity, but with an organic, tropical touch.
Most rooms let in the tropical sunlight, creating an airy, light atmosphere—and not stuffy-corporate.
The rooms were designed by longtime Rockwell interior designer Alice Erfe.
As Rockwell president Nestor “Tong” Padilla toured Inquirer Lifestyle around the offices, we noted how employee-friendly the design is. The first room from the stairwell is a well-designed pantry where the staff of mostly young, energetic sales and marketing people is meant to gather and take a break.
Apart from the ribbon-cutting of its headquarters, Rockwell will also open tomorrow the Edades Suites Design Studio and launch the Eight Coffee Bar by UCC. Thelma Sioson San Juan
