Renowned swimwear and swim-related-accessories brand Speedo recently launched its “Speedo Fit” campaign at Samsung Hall in SM Aura Premier.

The campaign is a collaboration with the world’s leading athletes, coaches, sports scientists and physiotherapists to design swimwear that allows the perfect body position for swimming.

Showcasing the new Speedo collection, which encourages swimming for fitness and improving techniques, were the brand’s new endorsers—powerlifter-turned-runner Lauren Lim, yoga practitioner Katrina Mercado and Olympian swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi who persuaded fitness enthusiasts to include swimming into their routine.

Jamie Cornforth, Speedo International vice president for product and marketing, said that Speedo wants to inspire anyone to have a fit and healthy lifestyle by taking up swimming.

Alkhaldi, who returned to the Philippines after graduating from University of Hawaii at Manoa, recalled: “Swimming played a huge role in shaping who I am today, not accomplishments in the pool but what I have learned in the sport, like hard work and resilience. I learned the importance of teamwork and respect among peers and coaches that will help achieve goals and shape character.”

It was a short, fast-track show, but which also captured what Speedo is all about, dahlings.

Get fit, palangga, and show off your new figure with Speedo’s latest collection.

Speedo stores are in Alabang Town Center, Bonifacio High Street, Circuit Mall, Fairview Terraces, Gateway Mall, Glorietta 4, Lucky Chinatown Mall, Robinsons Place Bacolod and Palawan, Galleria Cebu, SM City Davao, SM Seaside, and The District Cavite.

Oxygen fuses music and fashion

Clothing brand Oxygen celebrated passion for music and individual expression through fashion with the unveiling of the Oxygen x Billboard collection.

Popular personalities from the music and fashion scenes, as well as top models, flocked to the event’s venue, TriNoma mall activity center.

Hosted by Myx VJ Alex Diaz, it opened with the band She’s Only Sixteen performing live, followed by DJ Toby who hit the decks with a mix of billboard chart-toppers, and then another band, Never the Strangers, and finally DJ Kat de Jesus spinning more records.

For the main program, Sam Concepcion rendered songs while models showcased the new Oxygen x Billboard fashion collection.

“We wanted our launch to emphasize that the collection was made with those very passionate about music in mind,” said Jeff Bascon, Oxygen brand director.

Oxygen’s goal, he added, is to “make it easy for the youth to express themselves freely through fashion. We are taking that principle notches higher with our collab with Billboard and by inserting musical influences into our designs.”

Trés visible were GMA 7 actor Benjamin Alves, ex-“PBB” housemates Ysabel Mejia and Nichole Baranda, the gorgeous Zombettes Ornusa Cadness and Sanya Smith, Pioneer DJ Mia Ayesa, singer-songwriter Keiko Necesario, singer and blogger Kiana Valenciano, “Amazing Race Asia” 2012 winner CJ Jaravata, celebrity makeup artist Jake Galvez, Filipino-French model Luke Jickain, and bloggers Alyssa Lapid, Alex Lapa, Seph Cham, Trice Nagusara, Rodel Flordeliz, Myke Soon and Miko Carreon.

CWC’s ‘La Dolce Vita’ affair

This year’s Catholic Women’s Club (CWC) annual afternoon tea dubbed “La Dolce Vita” was a smashing success in terms of attendance, décor, food and invigorating Italian music.

It was like walking into a romantic Italian scene in Rome! The stunning backdrop simulated the gardens in Tuscany, Naples and Florence.

Thanks to the inspired leadership of Mameng Carag, Tessie Amparo and Estela J. Lopez, and of course the cooperation of all CWC members, everyone had a grand and memorable time.
