Last July 23, 2016, attendees made their way to Samsung Hall in SM Aura to celebrate the second birthday of Scout Magazine. Capturing the feel of the night out in the woods, Samsung Hall was converted into a spacious, photo-op worthy camping grounds, with a tent, bonfire, and game booths to complete the camping experience.
Key influencers, personalities, and fellow Scouts were given a copy of the latest issue of Scout featuring Yassi Pressman on the cover, along with gift certificates from McDonald’s. Attendees were also given free refreshments from Sunkist and Nestea and the first few were given Scout notebooks. Also available for sale were stickers, button pins, and the Scout drawstring bag.

On the main stage, attendees were in for a special treat, thanks to an all-star line-up of local bands, namely Ang Bandang Shirley, The Ransom Collective, Tandems ’91, Jensen and The Flips, Cheats, Autotelic, Fools & Foes, Oh, Flamingo!, Tom’s Story, Run Dorothy, and Extrapolation. Drinks courtesy of Brew Kettle were served to keep the night going. While waiting in between sets, attendees were free to roam the camp grounds to play in the booths or take photos.

For those looking for something different, a DJ lounge comprised of the city’s promising musical artists provided music ranging from trap to soulful RnB to hip hop. The line-up in the DJ Lounge includes DJs Out Of Scratch, Xtina Superstar, Asch Catabona, Like Animals, and Arthur Tan, MCs Curtismith and Ninno Rodriguez, and singer Olympia.
Thanks to good music and impressive set design, Scout Summer Camp emerged a great success and left each person who attended a happy camper. The event concluded with Instagram-worthy photos, happy memories, and the latest issue of Scout to take home.
