THE DE LA SALLE-College of Saint Benilde’s Fashion Design and Merchandising students presented “Sinulid: The Threads of Design,” an exhibit and fashion show held recently at the SM Aura Atrium Hall and Samsung Hall.
Each of the 40 student designers showcased a three-piece collection in an octagon-shaped runway at Samsung Hall.
Meanwhile, the exhibit at the Atrium Hall featured works of merchandising students in individual pop-up stores.
The event marked the school’s first presentation covering two of its major tracks: design and merchandise marketing, which includes a minor in styling.
It was also the culminating activity of the graduating batch of 2016.
“This is a milestone for the fashion merchandising students. Through this event, they learned branding, market research, profiling and visual merchandising,” said Tracy Tabora, academic adviser of the fashion and design merchandising program.
“Experience and exposure play a significant part in our fashion education,” said Lulu Tan-Gan, chair of the two programs.
