Pokémon Go has quenched pop culture–the viral mobile game dominated fans’ smartphones, toys, collectibles and even meals at a burger restaurant in Sydney, Australia.
Australian burger chain Down N’ Out, a restaurant managed by Hashtag Burgers, is now prepping up Pokéburgers, a selection of burgers with pocket monsters’ faces on bulky burger buns.
Three pocket monsters will be up for grabs in Down N’ Out: Pikachu, Charmander and Bulbasaur.
In interviews with trendy news sites Buzzfeed and Mashable Australia, Down N’ Out creative director Ben Kagan said that it took him a long time before he mastered cooking the luscious and oozing Pokéburgers.
“We’ve tried many different ways of getting them to look amazing,” Ben told BuzzFeed. “At one stage we were experimenting with a hot-iron brand and then we tried printing the faces onto rice paper.”
“The Charmander is a little bit spicy, there’s kind of a volcanic cheese dripping off it,” Kagan told Mashable Australia. “The Bulbasaur is grassy and cleaner, but it tastes like a Big Mac actually—which is quite nice.” The Pikachu burger, which is dyed with yellow buns, is decorated with tiger ears from crispy fries.
The burgers will be available from Tuesday, Aug. 23, until Sunday, Sept. 3, and priced at A$15 (P532 PHP). Gianna Francesca Catolico
