Urban Sketchers to hold art workshops

IN CELEBRATION of the birth centennial of Emilio “Abe” Aguilar Cruz, who during his lifetime, with the Dimasalang Group of artists,  documented  landscapes of the country with paintings and sketches, the National Museum of the Philippines, with the Emilio Aguilar Cruz Foundation, Inc., presents the Urban Sketchers Workshop: Art Lessons in On-Location Sketching.

The workshops will be held at the National Museum Sept. 19-Oct. 17.

 

Courses include Line Sketching, for those willing to learn the basics and attain second nature sketching habits; Basic Watercolor, for those with at least an average know-how of sketching and would like to attain the confidence and the skill for painting with watercolor; and  Advanced Quick Sketching and Coloring Techniques, for those with at least an average knowledge of drawing, or who have fully participated in the first two workshops of this series, and are willing to learn how to illustrate what they see in a matter of minutes.

Lectures will be given by Cesar Ramirez, Carlo Martinez, Eileen Escueta and Janeil Arlegui. Culminating activity will be on Oct. 24, at Abe’s Farm in Magalang, Pampanga.

 

Course fee is P3,000 inclusive of art materials and snacks.
