New suites, new restaurant at Ascott Makati

Long-staying guests at Ascott Makati and even those who stay for a couple of nights will notice the changes that have recently been made. The tables, chairs, beds, drapes and carpets have been changed but the guest rooms’ configurations have remained the same. The studied use of muted shades and plush fabrics has resulted in a cozier, modern look for the suites.

All of the creature comforts are present as well as a kitchenette, and a washer and dryer. The pool has recently reopened after undergoing a few refurbishments while Myron’s, the popular steakhouse at Greenbelt, is set to open on site.

“Ascott Makati really caters more to the business market rather than leisure travelers,” said Arthur Gindap, Ascott Limited’s regional general manager. “That said, we also get our share of tourists especially around the Christmas season where they do their shopping at the malls, drop their purchases off in their rooms, and then continue shopping.”

The serviced residence is located in the middle of Ayala Center. Aside from Glorietta mall, it is within walking distance of SM Makati, Landmark and Greenbelt. Renovations at Tower 1 of Ascott Makati started in phases in late 2015; the new rooms were relaunched last month.

“Unlike hotels where the guest rooms look the same, our suites aren’t cookie cutter,” Gindap said. Each residence has expansive living and dining areas with fully equipped kitchens and home entertainment systems.

The Ascott Limited is a member of CapitaLand, the largest international serviced residence owner-operator with close to 300 properties in over 100 countries.
