A new type of coffee is brewing on the busy streets of New York.
J + B Design and Cafe, a store located in Brooklyn, New York, is serving a fascinating succulent beverage called Banana Milk Coffee, a blend of coffee, milk, syrup and crushed bananas.
Business owner and former bassist Fumio Tashiro told Eater, a popular food and dining site, that he conceptualized the drink while he was reading an article on Brazilian banana drinks. From there, he thought of launching the drink last year to spike up his income.
“It’s quiet. Traffic is not so great…I was trying to create something new,” he told the news site.
He also noted that in his country, Japan, and Korea, blending bananas and water to make a simple milk solution is common. Today, he generates more than $500 dollars a week by selling his famed drink, priced at around $5.
Tashiro drops some astonishing secrets in brewing his trendy drink. He uses a “common” brand of coffee for his heavenly recipe, and other companies’ marketed banana-flavored milk, including South Korean company Binggrae and American company WhiteWaveFoods.
“I experimented,” Tashiro admitted to Eater. “And it worked.” Gianna Francesca Catolico
