Belo-Pitt wedding in Lake Como, Italy
JUSTIN James Pitt and Cristalle Belo

With pain in my heart, I have to state at the outset I will not be able to attend what’s expected to be the fabulous grand wedding of Cristalle Belo Henares to Australian hotelier Justin James Pitt on Sept. 15 at Villa Erba on the shores of Lake Como in Italy. I have to go to Australia to be with my sister who has a medical condition.

In the Lombardy region of Northern Italy, along the foothills of the Alps, lies the grandeur of a picturesque playground—Lake Como, a lake coincidentally wishbone-shaped, inviting you to make your wishes come true. This lake, which has blossomed over time to something beautiful, is set to hold a new tale because of the forthcoming wedding.

What I do know is that Cristalle and Justin James will say their “I do’s,” followed by a dream-come-true reception at Villa Erba. It will be the wedding of the year with the chosen 100 guests to witness this once-in-a-lifetime happening.

Needless to say, I will be wishing Cristalle and Justin love that will last a lifetime.

In their invitation, the couple declared, “Thank you for joining us at the beginning of Chapter One. Love, laughter and happily ever after!” All the best! to this lovable couple!

Invitation-only fashion show

Mr. & Ms Chinatown Philippines 2016 held a by-invitation-only fashion show of its swimwear competition at Chaos Night Club at the Fortune Egg of the City of Dreams Manila.

Manille’s Chinese-Filipino community gathered during the show, which featured the latest collections of Ditta Sandico, Ann Ong and Hoseki Jewelry as worn by Mr. & Ms Chinatown candidates on stage.

Show was hosted by my pal Johnny Litton and Miss Chinatown Foundation executive director Alexis Go.

City of Dreams Manila VP Kevin Benning and Chinoy TV president Alvin Tan welcomed the guests before 15 male and 15 female candidates modeled the eco-friendly and colorful abaca wraps by Sandico and lavish accessories of Ong.

Best in Swimwear were Jan Louie Ngo and Shirley Vy. They later emerged as Mr. & Ms Chinatown 2016 and became the newest ambassadors of the Chinese-Filipino community.

Judges were Benning, Oriental Group GM Kevin Wong, Status Salon owner Robina Ko, West Avenue Suites’ Alexander Martos and Pegarro swimwear designer Domz Ramos.

Jeans gig

Great music, excellent food, friends  and superb design—all  elements of the good life were present at the launch of Levi’s Fall-Winter 2016 collection at Revel in the Palace.

Levi’s tailored this season’s designs to make people’s lives better, no matter their lifestyle. As Levi’s Philippines’ country manager Charisse Chua pointed out, “This season is all about comfort, quality and style. We want men and women to feel and look great in Levi’s.”

Wolfgang vocalist and rock star Basti Artadi performed iconic rock hits. An upgraded, customized slim-fit revival of the timeless 505 punk-rock jean, 505C complements Artadi’s rock lifestyle.

Getting everyone’s adrenaline zooming up, international DJ Tom Taus played sick beats while wearing the 511 slim jeans.

It was refreshing to watch student-models from different universities modeling the 511 and 711 slim-fit jeans designed for everyday wear.

Clothes alteration

Alterations Plus staff helped in the costume design alternations during the six-week run in Manila of “Les Misérables.”

Senior staffers Lailanie Benedicto and Angel Orcajada were deployed to the backroom of the Solaire stage, altering the costumes of the various international artists.

“It has truly been a great honor for us to have been entrusted with the delicate task of altering these costumes,” said proprietor Lucille Carlos.
