“Rent” writer and Tony award winner Jonathan Larson wrote “Tick, Tick… Boom!” as a “rock monologue,” which was produced off-off-Broadway in 1990.
The musical is the story of Jon, an aspiring musical composer who is about to turn 30 and having doubts on his career choice.
His girlfriend Susan pressures him into leaving New York to start a family. His best friend Michael, a former actor turned marketing research executive, encourages him to establish a stable career.
“Tick, Tick… Boom!” will be staged by 9 Works Theatrical, Oct. 1-23 weekends, at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, in RCBC Plaza, Makati.
