The best new things this season

I DON’T know about you, but when the holidays come, it’s not always Christmas I’m waiting for. It’s the pretty things that sparkle better than Christmas balls—the goodies that don’t even need glitter.

This season, I’ve caught wind of the latest products from my tried-and-trusted brands. We may not have fall, but at least these have reached our shores through Rustan’s Beauty stores.

Diptyque

The French perfumer has returned with a fresh and fragrant harvest of May Roses. Crafted by the famed Fabrice Pellegrin, the newest Essences Insensées captures the delicate yet distinct character of the airy centifolia cabbage rose while creating an almost tangible experience for your nose.

Accentuated with honey and red fruit notes, whiffs of the scented candle and perfumes can take you to Grasse, France and make you feel like you’re holding a fresh bouquet of roses every time.

L’Occitane

When we talk about wish lists, an anti-aging cream that actually works is always part of them. The brand’s lauded Crème Divine has come early this Christmas to save us: This miracle in a jar promises reduced wrinkles and blemishes, and facial contour restoration through its unique formulation of seven active ingredients.

Backed by a study on cosmetogenomics or the analysis of gene expression in response to cosmetic products, this product is truly a present for those seeking potent beauty solutions.

Laura Mercier

Perfectly groomed brows trend all year long. So it makes sense to equip yourself with Laura Mercier’s latest brow tools, the Brow Dimension Fiber-Infused Colour Gel and the Instant Ink 24-hour Brush Eyeliner.

The former is your friend when building thick, sculpted eyebrows. Its pigmented gel formula promises precision and 12-hour-long hold. The eyeliner, on the other hand, offers a flexible brush tip applicator that delivers flexibility upon application.

Whether you want a bold eye or simple definition, this one’s a waterproof liner that makes looking good easy.

Havaianas x Charlotte Olympia

I know flip-flops are more appropriate for summer, but correct me if I’m wrong: You wouldn’t ignore a pair of slippers that’s suited for the holidays, especially ones that are designed by Charlotte Olympia, would you?

The luxury designer has recently collaborated with Havaianas to release three styles that come in her signature colors of red, blush and gold.

Her iconic mascots Kitty, Bruce and her web make cameos in the collection, adding quirk to the classic rubber soles of the flip-flop brand.

Your feet might want to hide from the cold, but I know for sure they won’t want to keep away from the cool.
