Fast-food giant drizzles fries with pumpkin spice sauce

Lots of fast-food companies are experimenting with an oddly syrupy flavor encircling food lovers’ taste buds.

One of them is McDonald’s Japan, which welcomed its very own pre-Halloween snack, “Halloween Choco Potato,” on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The salty treat is drizzled with sweet chocolate and pumpkin spice sauce. According to Food and Wine,  the “Halloween Choco Potato” is an enticing spin-off of McDonald’s Japan’s other product, “McChoco Potato,” which shook the East Asian country in January. “Japanese customers can now enjoy an ideal combination of McDonald’s French fries drizzled with two types of chocolate sauces—chocolate with cacao flavor and white milk chocolate,” the company said in a previous statement.

The fast-food chain’s website describes its Halloween-themed limited edition product as yummy fries with “pumpkin and chocolate sauce in Halloween style.”

The meal’s release coincides with the 45th anniversary of McDonald’s Japan. Likewise, the product will be available on the menu for one month and will not be sold outside the country.

Last 2015, Seattle-based coffee giant Starbucks launched its “Pumpkin Spice Latté,” which paved the way to other pumpkin-spiced products in other restaurants.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
