MAYA Kitchen holds Basic Baking on Oct. 4-7. Seminar covers basic baking techniques for small and commercial scale production of recipes and formulations of quick breads, cakes and other bread varieties. Class fee is P8,000.

Basic Baking is also offered on Oct. 18-21 and Oct. 25-28.

Others: Basic Cakes on Oct. 8—hands-on and group workshop with recipes like angel food cake, dark chocolate cake and butter cake. Fee is P2,000.
Basic Culinary on Oct. 11-13— cooking fundamentals and international standard techniques of meal preparation for home and institutional scale kitchens.

Beginner’s Icing on Oct. 15—to cover boiled icing, buttercream and ganache. Fee is P2,000.

Meanwhile, Christmas Food Gift Workshop will be held on Oct. 15. Recipes include cream cheese-based dips and pretzels and flavored sugar cubes. Fee is P2,000.

Others: Cupcakes 101: Filled Cupcakes on Oct. 22—to cover chocolate mousse-filled cupcakes and blueberry cream cheese-filled cupcakes. Fee is P2,000.

Juicing and Healthy Wraps on Oct. 29. It will cover basic juicing know-hows plus tips on how to turn standard sandwiches into healthy wraps like grilled chicken and veggie wrapped in tofu dressing and healthy Vietnamese wrap. Fee is P1,000.

Manila’s Well-Known Cake Rolls on Oct. 29 offers Ube Macapuno Cake Roll, Yema Cake Roll and Triple Chocolate Cake Roll. Fee is P2,000.

Project Wheelchair

Project Wheelchair will hold a fund-raising dinner on Oct. 23,  6 p.m., at the Champagne Room, Manila Hotel.

Proceeds from the nine-course degustation dinner (P3,800) will buy wheelchairs to be given to different institutions, including House of Hope in Davao and Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko.
