Salcedo Auctions recently held its Well-Appointed Life auction with some help from Dom Pérignon, dahlings.

With the prestigious champagne brand as vernissage partner, Salcedo held its auction at the penthouse of 8 Rockwell in Makati.

Some 500 slots were auctioned off, consisting of paintings and other art pieces as well as jewelry, luxury watches and vintage wines.

Chic invitees were treated to an opulent Pérignon Vintage 2006 while they gazed at masterpieces by famous Filipino artists spanning generations such as Félix Resurrección Hidalgo, Fernando Amorsolo, Cesar Legaspi, José Joya, Vicente Manansala, Romulo Olazo, Ang Kiukok and BenCab.

“Dom Pérignon is top of mind when it comes to impeccable wines; it’s one of the world’s best wines,” said curator Ramon E.S. Lerma. “At Salcedo Auctions, we aim to provide the best of everything and underscore our importance in giving opportunities for people to acquire the finest art and jewelry pieces.”

He added the auction aimed to highlight what “a valuable collection means to a person.” He explained art and luxury collections “may not be essential to living. However, these objects enhance life and make it worthwhile.”

Lerma also pointed out: “We derive joy from family, experiences—but it is a matter of honoring what that object represents. If it’s a work of art… a work by a great artist, then it means it has helped define who we are as a country.”

Moët Hennessy Philippines marketing manager Trina Ching-Ramos agreed.

“Art is hard work and will always be a quest for perfection,” she said. “Our founder Dom Pierre Pérignon’s ambition to create the best wine in the world resonates and deeply reflects the value of art. While art pieces acquire value from the time it was created, each Dom Pérignon continuously reinvents itself with each vintage. Its commitment to slow aging is in itself the ultimate expression of art with its complexity.”
