These dancers dare to ask ‘why do artists make art?’

By Celene Sakurako

Working in the arts is not just all fun and games. Artists make art, not just to make art. Art to many, is more than just a hobby, it’s more than just a passing fancy. It’s a passion that feeds, and contemporary dance company REDph’s stands by this. Every year since last year, they’ve been running a dance-centered art showcase, aimed to celebrate all forms of art.

This year, their performance titled “REASONS Unveiled” will circulate towards the theme “Revealing your Why?” With the help of guest choreographers Brod Dytoc, Elijah Go Tian, and Miles Soriano, the production will be diving deep into the “whys” of artists.

Happening this Sunday, Nov. 19, at AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, from 4pm to 7pm, the showcase priced at P400 will also be featuring works by mural artists: Frank Jadulang, Jappy Agoncillo, and Distort Monsters, and tattoo artists: Horish Red, Katz Lorenzana, Lance Esteban, and Paolo Tobias, who in their eyes live and breathe art.

See you there!

REASONS Unveiled will be held on Nov. 19, 2017, at AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, De Jesus Ave, Quezon City, from 4pm to 7pm. Tickets are P400. Get a ticket by texting 09173287222 or messaging one of the REDph’s members here.
