Bottega Veneta’s Cruise collection features mood-lifting colors

For Cruise 2017, Bottega Veneta presents a collection continuing the elongated silhouette from Fall-Winter 2016. Using a wide range of mood-lifting colors, the result is a wardrobe that can be used in any climate.
A large color palette is used, containing classic darks, saturated brights and contrasting dusty pastels.
The women’s silhouette is neat and precisely tailored with an absence of sportswear. Coats are always present, and the idea of dressing is distilled to the minimum.
Materials are divided into shiny and matte, including shiny crinkled lambskin, high-gloss coated rainwear and lambskin and shiny waxed cotton twill, as well as cotton satin, devoré velvets and jacquards. Matte materials are cotton velvet and corduroy calf suede, bonded crepe, sturdy wool and bonded tweed, gabardine, and viscose jersey. Pavé prints are used, while square sequins are employed to create embroideries.
Accessories for women are on the smaller side, with colorful and beautifully crafted handbags in both matte and shiny materials, such as calf leather and water snakes. Embroideries and metal embellishments are used to create subtle visual effects.
Patent leather D’Orsay shoes with a contrasted wrap strap in various heights and color combinations create a graphic look. The few jewelry pieces include a variety of sterling and enameled bangles.
“This collection, as always, is meant as a continuity from the runway, while displaying a large palette of colors that lift the mood of the season,” said Tomas Maier, creative director of Bottega Veneta. “A large variety of materials is used for the various geographic destinations in the world.”
In the Philippines, Bottega Veneta is at Greenbelt 4 and Shangri-La Plaza East Wing.
