The old favorites are still very much around in Intramuros. But in case you haven’t been there in a while, here’s a list of where to eat after a long day of walking.
Ristorante Delle Mitre—Right across the Church of San Agustin, this old-timer, said to be owned by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, offers hearty meals in generous servings.
Raffaele Woodfired Pizza at Bayleaf Intramuros Hotel— Craving for pizza or pasta? Then drop by the Bayleaf Intramuros Hotel. They also have other acclaimed restaurants, like Sky Deck View Bar, 9 Spoons, and even a dessert place called Cioccolata Churros Café.
Barbara’s—One of the pioneers in Intramuros, Barbara’s to this day still delivers the goods when it comes to Filipino/Spanish cuisine. There’s good entertainment, too, such as an interpretative performance of the history of the Philippines.
Ilustrado—This colonial-style villa still serves the best Spanish hot chocolate in town. And don’t forget the buttery ensaymada.
Patio de Conchita—Delicious and affordable food. No wonder it’s a hit among students.
Café Ilang-Ilang—If you want a fancier place, this one is located right inside the Manila Hotel.
Coco Bango Café—This offers a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Spanish food. There are also live band performances every night.
