The 2017 Starbucks planners are here—in two designs: coffee stains and blue siren, both done in hardbound cloth covers.
Inquirer Lifestyle got first dibs on the much-awaited planners, and we love that they come with several add-ons: an erasable pen (it works!), a Macchiato magnetic bookmark, cute coffee stickers, discount coupons, and a zip cloth pouch that doubles as a pen case as it keeps the planner clean.
The coffee stain planner has a chill coffee-art design, with subtle copper illustration. It comes with an espresso-colored pouch designed with “secret scribbles,” a gold coffee stamp and gold zipper.
The blue siren planner is inspired by the sea, taking off from the background of the 2016 Starbucks Anniversary Blend packaging, says Keith Cole, Starbucks Philippines marketing head. It has the rich colors of the ocean—aqua, teal and jade—highlighted by a pattern of geometric gold Starbucks stars. It comes with a navy blue pouch with gorgeous gold mermaid tail print and gold zipper.
Choose the design according to your planner personality. The 2017 Starbucks planners come in two sizes—regular and mini—featuring a weekly format. Both are designed by Starbucks’ creative team with the theme “Crafted by Heart and Hand.”

Inside are watercolor drawings of coffee beans, lush leaves, a mermaid, a moonlit campsite that serve as month separators.
The planners are designed to be interactive, says Denise Barrameda, Starbucks assistant manager for public affairs and digital communications. “There are monthly activities that encourage users to draw, take and paste photos, get crafty.”
The 2017 Starbucks planners will be available starting Nov. 2 through the traditional sticker collection. You know the drill: Fill out a promo card with 18 stickers by buying a combination of drinks from the holiday and regular beverage menu, and you get one planner.
One may also get a planner with a P7,000 single-receipt purchase of participating Starbucks items.
Redemption is until March 9, 2017. At the end of the claiming period, Starbucks will be making donations to partner organizations Teach for the Philippines and Philippine Educational Theater Association (Peta).
Those who are used to using plain-cover planners will be missing them this coming year. But, hey, maybe it’s time for some colors and prints for 2017!
