Last week, I asked my driver, whom the Super Squad likes to call Yaya Delta, to buy a fishbowl. “Don’t forget, it’s really important,” I told him.

A few days later, I asked, “Did you get the fishbowl?”

“Yes,” he said, handing me a brown paper bag that looked surprisingly flat. I slid my hand inside, it was wet and cold. I pulled the contents out. It was a bag of fishballs.

(He got an actual fishbowl the next day—and you will see that fishbowl on page 8. It had quite an interesting date with Mocha Uson.)

This story is just one of many stories that have led to the Super that you are holding in your hands today.

Over the years, we have gone through a lot of changes—we began as a section in the broadsheet, moved from Saturdays to Fridays and now to Sundays and many Super people have come and gone—but one thing remains the same: Our desire to bring you fresh content week after week.

But this time, we don’t just want you to see Super as something you read.

We want it to become a part of your life. We want you to play with our pages—and you can. Take page 3 with you, go on a scavenger hunt at your favorite SM mall and get the chance to bring home some goodies (seriously, the heavy bag of Trolli treats is enough to make me want to join the hunt).

We will be where you are, springing surprises like we did at National Book Store where we gave away books (page 5).

For this issue, we went ghost-hunting, quizzed people about drugs, mapped Poblacion and prepared a Halloween survival kit for you. And we’re just getting started.
