Moviemov: Italian Cinema Now, the traveling Italian movie festival, will open with a red-carpet premiere on Nov. 12 at the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Cinematheque Center Manila. It will run till the 16th.

The Italian directors, cast and crew of the films will grace the opening night at the Cinematheque, as well as Sen. Goffredo Bettini, Italian senator, film advocate and founder and artistic director of Moviemov.

On Nov. 3, Italian Ambassador Massimo Roscigno hosted a welcome lunch for Bettini at his residence. Also welcoming Bettini was Zenaida Tantoco, president of the Philippine-Italian Association.

Moviemov is organized by Playtown Roma and supported by the General Direction for Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Heritage and Culture, Italian Trade Agency in Rome, and Italian Chamber of Commerce in Rome.

The festival pays tribute to contemporary Italian cinema and travels around Asia, especially the Philippines.

Moviemov makes a first in its run in our country by partnering with the FDCP and showing its films exclusively at Cinematheque Manila.
