Let me tell you, palangga, about Carter’s, the American maker of children’s apparel, which recently held its Puffy Paradise Family Day at The Arya Residences in Bonifacio Global City.

Guests were treated to an afternoon of delicious bites from Cibo, delectable desserts such as cotton candy and ice cream, and special gifts from Carter’s, event partners Cycles & Cradles, Dr. Edward’s Sterilized Water, Vita Coco and Mustela.

Host was Issa Litton.

Among the eye-catching mom guests were Patty Laurel-Filart and Bianca Reinoso-Santiago of Baby Barangay, who gave tips on how to dress up their babies in cute, fresh and colorful clothes from Carter’s.

Highlighting the event was a fashion show featuring stylish moms and their babies dressed in Carter’s.

Seen having fun at the event were Cinderella marketing director Malou Coronel-de Venecia, Cinderella VP for finance Grace Coronel-Agbayani, OshKosh B’Gosh and Carter’s marketing head Janet Litton-Coronel, Dr. Edward’s marketing director Rowena Sanchez, Working Mom editor in chief Jane Kingsu-Cheng, as well as Chris Yam Daez and Marielle Santos-Po.

With great food and amazing company, Carter’s lived up to its promise to make the event an unforgettable day with babies, family and pals, dahlings.

Leather fashion

Fino Leatherware recently unveiled its latest fashion accessory series, dahlings, at Sage Bar in Makati Shangri-La.

Occupying a prominent spot were portraits of three modern Filipino women who are also Fino brand advocates: Dyan Castillejo, Serla Russel and Margie Moran-Floirendo.

Fino power-couple Dr. Rommel and Rose Ann Bautista ushered in the guests, who indulged in overflowing wine from Beringer paired with stylized Filipino late-afternoon snacks prepared by Makati Shang chefs.

The beautiful Fino leather cuffs wrapped around the wine glass stems quickly became a conversation piece.

Program emcee Lexi Schulze directed our attention to the videos featuring each brand advocate in her element.

The newly unveiled Fino Now designs were inspired by the brand advocates themselves, in collaboration with Luis Espiritu.

Fino Now Active Series 001, also known as the “dump-all,” was designed for athletes, said sports commentator, TV host, wife and mom Castillejo.

It was followed by the Flow Series 002 Sonata Tote, a bag designed for acclaimed pianist Russel.

Last but definitely not the least was the bag designed for Floirendo, my dearest palangga. Tailor-fit to her lifestyle, Fino Now the Advocate Series 003 Station Overnighter complements Floirendo’s passion and support for Ballet Philippines and the performing arts. It is lightweight enough for her to use the bag as a luxurious travel carryall.

“Fino is every 21st-century Filipino woman’s everyday essential,” Bautista said, adding that part of the sale proceeds from the new designs will be donated to Buklod Kalinga, Young Focus and Ballet Philippines, the brand advocates’ favorite causes.

Series 002 and Advocate Series 003 Station Overnighter will be available in an all-leather design soon in Fino stores.

Witching night at Marriott

Marriott Manila celebrated its Global Customer Appreciation Week (GCAW) last Halloween. Theme this year was “Making Greater Connections.”

Dressed in freaky costumes, palangga, including versions of the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, Jon Snow, Maleficent, Mummy and Black Swan were personalities from various sectors of society.

Marriott transformed the Ceremonial Hall of its Grand Ballroom to a “Phantasmagoric Haven” with uncanny decor.

The Bloomfields, one of Manille’s exciting retro bands, rocked the stage as everyone danced till about midnight.

The guests were treated to the superb culinary fete by the hotel’s multiawarded chefs under the brilliant executive chef Meik Brammer.

It definitely was a night of witches and witchery at The Marriott!
