A group of Filipino fashion designers recently showed their capsule collections in Yangon, to celebrate the bilateral and diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Myanmar.
Members of the Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines (FDCP) led by its president, Anthony Nocom, showed alongside their Myanmar counterparts in a gala dinner show dubbed “Passion for Fashion.”
Burmese-born Wynn Wynn Ong, the Manila-based celebrated jewelry and accessories designer, was tapped by the Philippine Embassy in Myanmar to gather the Filipino designers, who included Dong Omaga Diaz, Len Nepomuceno and Len Cabili of Filip+Inna.
The event wasn’t only a fashion showcase, but also a cultural exchange between the two nations. The show raised $39,000 for the chosen beneficiary, the Yangon Children’s Hospital.
