Entrepreneur and style savant Ito Kish, owner of the eponymous lifestyle store, has creative solutions to setting up Christmas displays in a tight space.
He has launched the Ito Kish Christmas collection.
“Budget constraints might not allow you to buy decorations that will be on display for only two months,” said Kish. “Storage will be a problem if you live in a condo. A 2” x 2” box of decor will not fit under the bed.”
His solution? “Little decorative pieces can bring in the spirit of Christmas.”
The Christmas collection of Ito Kish offers creative ways of decorating compact spaces.
The collection at the launch included faux pine trees from Croatia with built-in cones and LED lights, and exquisitely carved servers and reindeer shakers.
There were also books from UK publisher Phaedon on cooking, children’s stories, déco, architecture and Grace Coddingham’s latest obra on her years with American Vogue.

GLITTER IN A BOWL
Place an assortment of gem and glass crystal balls in a fancy or glass bowl or tray. “You can put the bowl of Christmas balls on top of a console,” says Kish. “If you’re putting them on the dining table, reconfigure the tray if the table is a rectangle or a square. Add flowers and leaves for flair.”
FESTIVE TABLETOP VIGNETTES

TWINKLE LIGHTS
Two meters of twinkling lights can be placed anywhere. Ito Kish prefers them to run around the table tops.
As a space saver, put the wreaths on top of large vessels or vases.
Compact versions of Christmas trees can be placed on top of cabinets and tables. Style them with European candleholders. A collection of white objects atop a French antique cabinet evokes wintry feeling.
THEMED TABLETOP VIGNETTES
Give the top of a cabinet or a table a seasonal redo. Kish has always favored a monochromatic scheme—grouping objects of the same color or texture. This tabletop vignette has shiny features such as glass accoutrements from Croatia, corrugated glasses, an hourglass and a velvet box with metallic trim from India, glass vase with brass trim from China, gilt picture frames from Italy, gilt vases from Thailand and brass bottles and candleholders.
