A stunner among smoked meats, the Smoked Chicken Leg Quarters are tender and flavorful. Pair them with your choice of side dish or, better yet, with “dirty” rice.

Southern Living magazine recently partnered with the Department of Agriculture (DA) for the sale of homegrown products in “Backyard Grill at the Park,” held at Park 3 Grounds, Bel-Air Village, Makati.

Families and friends sampled coffee from Cocotos Mount Apo Coffee, local spirits from Distileria Limtuaco and mushroom burgers and even mushroom chicharon from The Perfect Mushroom.

Other interesting organic finds included edible flowers and greens from Down to Earth, sustainably sourced honey from Queen Bee, fresh carabao’s milk and cheese from Philippine Carabao Center and favorite delicacies from Aging’s Kakanin.

Alamat offered craft beers from different regions, and Tatang’s sold its crispy boneless pork bellies.

Tusk Social, Bayani Brew, The Good Seed by Edgy Veggy, Sigs Smokehouse, Ahi Hawaii, Stanford Shaw, Cashew Milk, Susmaryosep and Aburi Alabang completed the list of participating sellers.

The DA received part of the proceeds of this event.
