Nintendo attractions to open at Universal Studios theme parks

Initially announced back in May 2015, more details have been revealed with regards to Nintendo’s partnership with Universal Parks & Resorts.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Mario and other Iconic Nintendo characters will be making appearances within themed areas in Universal Studio theme parks in the coming years. The parks receiving the Nintendo treatment include those in Orlando, Los Angeles and Osaka. Rides, restaurants and other forms of entertainment are currently in the pipeline.

These new attractions will be using the similar park-within-a-park blueprint used in the case of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas—a strategy that proved effective and popular among visitors.

It’s hard not to notice that Nintendo is currently making a lot of buzz for its brand. There was Pokémon Go, Super Mario Run and then the recently released mini-versions of Nintendo’s classic consoles.

These new attractions could be a surefire hit among older gamers that grew up with Nintendo’s characters while also introducing them to the younger generation. Alfred Bayle
