There’s no need to break the bank to get a memento from that famous “galaxy far, far away”—that is unless you want to.
The reawakening of the Force after the success last year of the newest chapter in the “Star Wars” film franchise led to hundreds—maybe even thousands—of toys, apparel, film memorabilia and various other collectibles to fly off the shelves, faster than you can say: “Luke, I am your father.”
Scour the internet and actual brick-and-mortar stores and you’ll see lightsabers, action figures, a palm-sized Millennium Falcon that actually floats, tees, costumes, bobble-head figurines, house wares (Tip: Google “R2-D2 coffee press”), books and comic books, and a whole lot more.
Some of these retail for a couple of thousands of pesos, a pretty hefty amount if you’re just starting out in the fandom.
With the coming premiere of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the latest addition in this space saga, it looks like you’ll be seeing more of these oh-so-drool-worthy goodies on the shelves of your favorite stores.
Super got the lowdown on the must-see and must-have Star Wars merch available locally that everyone can enjoy, regardless if you’re a bright, young Padawan who lives on a budget or a devout Jedi Master willing to spend some serious dough.
Ready your wallets, and may the Force be with us all.
