Wood pieces and natural elements create that laid-back feel for the “Plaid” Christmas tree theme, one of two predominant holiday styles at specialty home store Pottery Barn this year.
According to Pottery Barn, plaid is for customers who want a relaxed and casual vibe in their homes this holiday. Red is dominant, set in contrast with checks of green and warm gold.
The traditional colors get a rustic treatment with ornaments of wood pieces wrapped in red plaid, nesting birds made of woven raffia, and red berries.
For those who prefer a more formal, sophisticated style, there’s the conventional “Winter Wonderland” which has mostly white, glass, and antique mercury ornaments.
Christmas balls in white, glass and champagne gold are hung on the green tree, with reindeer and little winter house ornaments. The tree is also adorned with faux snow for a magical feel.
While the two styles are contrasting, they stay true to traditional Christmas ambiance.
